I’m Jon, AKA Scientific Illustrator Jon, from the Youtube Channel DrawBioMed.

I create scientific and medical illustrations as well as tutorial videos so you can learn too.

Prior to a career in scientific illustration, I obtained a BA in Life Sciences and spent 3 years as a clinical researcher with the National Health Institute of Taiwan, Neuropsychiatric Center. While working as a clinical researcher, I developed an interest in drawing and began taking sketching classes. These sketches would help me build a portfolio I would later use to apply to the University of Amsterdam where I graduated with a Masters of Arts in Scientific Illustration.

As a scientific illustrator I have had opportunity to collaborate with a range of researchers, had my work published on the cover of the ACS Journal, and given lectures at the University of Oxford, University of Amsterdam, and the Einstein Center for Neuroscience in Berlin.
